Submarine cable

In operation since March 2017, Ceiba-2 connects the cities of Malabo and Bata in Equatorial Guinea with Cameroon. Ceiba-2 submarine cable is a milestone that meets two objectives:

Protecting the link between Bata and Malabo, currently connected through Ceiba-1 submarine cable, and composing the second international connection point for Equatorial Guinea.
Ceiba-2 also allows the ACE submarine cable to be interconnected with Cameroon, since the Ceiba-2 and ACE’s submarine stations in Bata are located next to each other and are interconnected with direct optical fiber.

The system is equipped with an initial 40 Gbps lambdas system and is scalable to a 100 Gbps lambdas system to meet future demand.

Ceiba-2 Submarine Cable System

The system has more than 500 km of submarine cable, linking customers with the 3 technical buildings of the system: one in Bata, one in Malabo and one in Kribi (Cameroon).
